Dickson, from Birmingham in England, spent much of his 45 years watching soccer and playing it socially. Now, believe or not, he's set to play Australian Football in Victoria.
Upon arriving to Australia in 2001 to take up a lead position in Sydney with Sony BMG Australia, Dickson discovered "AFL" and adopted the Sydney Swans. He became an instant fan and ambassador for the club.
In recent weeks, Dicko decided to turn his love of watching Aussie Rules footy to wanting to play it. So he used his connections to get a game in the code's spiritual home, Victoria.
Next week he will make an appearance in an intraclub practice match for North Ringwood who play in the Eastern Football League, lining up at full-forward.
Dickson was featured in the Herald Sun, making an appearance at Richmond Football Club's home ground Punt Road wearing a Swans shirt while meeting some of the Tigers stars. An article also appears in the Maroondah Leader - Dick makes his mark at Ringwood North.
Dicko's debut match starts at 7.15pm at Quambee Reserve, North Ringwood on Tuesday, April 15.
