The third Under 18’s Youth Girls National Championships will commence on Tuesday 15th of May, with matches taking place throughout Adelaide. The final will be played at the AAMI Stadium as a curtain raiser to the Port Adelaide v North Melbourne game on Saturday 19th.
Teams are selected from local Youth Girls clubs and school teams, and include Indigenous girls who will take part in the launch ceremony wearing their uniforms. From the teams, an All-Australian Youth Girls team, coach and field umpire will be selected.
The Youth Girls National Championships began in 2008 as a series of invitational games hosted by Australian states Queensland and Victoria. On the back of the games’ success and the concept’s popularity with the players and fans, the inaugural Youth Girls National Championships was held in 2010 in Craigieburn, Victoria.
This year’s competition features top teams Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland and the combined New South Wales/ Australian Capital Territory team along with a combined South Australia/ Northern Territory team and a combined Victoria Development/ Tasmania team.
More information on teams and players along with results as they come in can be found on the AFL Community Club website http://www.aflcommunityclub.com.au/in...php?id=748
Matches will be streamed live from the SANFL channel http://www.livestream.com/sanfl
